If you are about to restore your smile with dental implants in Fishers, Indiana, our My Dental Care team wants to help you prepare by telling you what you can expect during your treatment.

The dental implant treatment requires three different phases, and those phases are:

Phase 1
First, your dentist will place a small titanium post into the bone socket of your missing tooth. Then, the jawbone will need to heal around the post to secure it into place. The healing process could take anywhere between six to 12 weeks.

Phase 2
Once the post has bonded to the jaw bone, a small connector post is attached to the root implant post. This will hold the replacement tooth in its position. Your dentist will then make the new tooth by making impressions of your teeth and taking a model of your bite. Next, your dentist will send that information to a dental lab where your crown or bridge is created.

Phase 3
Once your restoration is created, your dentist will check its shape, size, and color to make sure it fits perfectly with your smile. If it exceeds expectations, they will place the crown or bridge over the abutment, giving you the natural-looking smile you deserve.

By knowing the information about dental implant treatment, you will feel more prepared and relaxed while you sit in the dental chair.
