A lot of people with dentures like to use denture adhesive to secure their dentures in place while also helping to block out food particles. If you do have some food particles trapped between your gums and the base of the dentures, you should thoroughly rinse them away as well as any residual adhesive. This will give you a smooth, clean surface to reapply fresh denture adhesive.

When you take your dentures out at night you should take your dentures out and thoroughly rinse them to remove any plaque buildup and residual adhesive. Once they are rinsed clean of denture adhesive you should brush them with a soft bristled toothbrush and denture polish. Soak the dentures overnight in water and keep them in a safe place.

If you like you could also lightly brush your tongue and gums to remove bacteria, and freshen your breath.
