As spring approaches, your spring-cleaning tasks are on your mind. This is the perfect time to not only deeply clean your house, but to also work toward a clean and healthy smile. To help you spring clean your smile and improve your oral health, My Dental Care team recommends doing the following four things while you complete your annual spring cleaning:

Replace old or worn toothbrushes
If your toothbrush is old or worn down or if you’ve been using it longer than 4 months, it’s time to replace it with a new one. When the brush is worn out, it no longer performs a proper cleaning job. It also tends to harbor bacteria and germs that can create infections in your smile.

Check the expiration date on your mouthwash
It’s very important to rinse your mouth each day with a non-expired mouthwash. If it’s expired, it won’t do its job and it will also taste horribly. So, make sure your mouthwash is not expired.

Replenish your floss supply
Flossing is a very important task that should be done at least once a day, which means there is a chance that you could run out of floss quickly. So, stock up on floss so you don’t have to worry about missing a day of flossing.

Schedule your next dental cleaning appointment
It’s strongly recommended to have your smile professionally cleaned every six months. So, if you’re due for a dental cleaning or if you have experienced a problem in your chompers, please call our office and schedule an appointment. This will help you have the strong and healthy smile you deserve.
