If you’ve recently chipped a tooth, the most important thing you can do is stay calm. Panicking won’t help the situation one bit. It’s also important to try and improve the situation as much as possible, and if you’re not exactly sure how to do so, our My Dental Care team is more than happy to help you. If you’ve chipped a tooth in Fishers, Indiana, we recommend doing the following things:

– Save the pieces: Save as many pieces of the tooth as possible. Then, rinse your mouth with warm water and wash any of the broken pieces. Keep the pieces in a safe place until you see your dentist.

-Control the bleeding: Apply a piece of gauze pad to the area for about 10 minutes or until the bleeding stops. If it still continues to bleed, replace the bloody pad with a new one and repeat this process.

-Reduce swelling: Reduce the swelling and relieve the pain by icing outside the injured area in 30-minute intervals.

-Visit your dentist: Visit your dentist as soon as possible so they can restore your oral health and give you the smile and comfort you deserve. Please remember to bring the pieces of tooth with you when you come into the office.
